I know Chocolate Dandelion Greens Shake doesn’t sound very appealing, but trust me. It’s well worth making it.
A Chocolate Shake was always my very favorite drink of choice. Especially McDonald’s. And then as I grew, I became very allergic to them and unless I wanted to physically suffer after drinking one, I had to keep them off my radar.
When I was a young child and sick with a sore throat, my Father would head straight to the ice cream store and home he would come with a Chocolate Malted Milk for me. I could always count on it. Oh my! Goodness, for sure.
In an ongoing effort to keep weight in check and because of my adverse reaction to them, I can’t even remember the last time I had anything remotely similar to a Chocolate Malt or Shake.
But, the other day, I saw a recipe for a Green Smoothie with Chocolate. I was fairly intrigued. Didn’t sound very good, but I had to try it. That was the inspiration for this wonderful drink.
It’s a double bonus. I get the shake I had always so loved, plus I am getting my greens, in addition.
This is smooth, chocolatey, and slightly bitter. But, keep in mind, it’s the chocolate bitter not the greens bitter. The frozen bananas keep this Chocolate Shake cold and frosty yet give it the sweetness it needs without making it too sweet. The almond extract……well, it boosts it up a notch.
Here you go!
It’s the absolute goodness of a Chocolate Shake with all the nutritious health benefits of the greens. How much better than that can it get?
Caution: I always say that green smoothies are to be sipped. Well, I can tell you I sipped this one waaaaaay tooooooo fast. It was that good.
